Emergency preparedness from a combat veteran

I’m out! Bye bye Afghanistan

Gone baby, gone!

Demobilizing The floor of the C-17 was cold but I finally got some sleep – and, I’m finally out of Afghanistan!

After 45 mins of sleep the past few days, I was pretty tired by the time we drug all our gear to the flight ops center at 0430 this morning. Stood outside and froze for about 4 hours and then finally boarded. I can’t ever sleep sitting in those chairs so I just laid on the icy floor.

Now I have a few days or so in the even-colder-ass country I’m at now and then the flight over the big pond back to the US. Two weeks at that station where they remind me not to beat my wife or ride my motorcycle too fast and I’m home. Five minutes after that, I’ll be naked on my leather couch, drinking a Guinness and playing X-BOX.

Flying home
